Maibock Festival
May 18th

In Germany, spring means Mai Bock beer and a special celebration. This year, Long Islanders can enjoy this tradition at the Plattduetsche Park Biergarten in Franklin Square on Friday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m., rain or shine. The festivities will include a seasonal Mai Bock beer, a special menu and live music by die Schlauberger.
The menu features traditional Maibock Festival fare including roasted pork shoulder, chilled shrimp and sea scallops and smoked ham and Swiss cheese on a pretzel roll. “We always get such a great response to our summer Biergarten, so we decided to add to our annual celebration of German traditions with a Maibock Festival. It’s a terrific way to kick-start the Biergarten season,” explained General Manager Matthew Buck.
Over two acres in size, the Biergarten will be open every Friday June through September starting at 6:00 p.m. with no cover charge and on occasional Saturdays for special events. Live music is always featured, for a complete schedule of bands and promotional nights please go to our web site, ParkRestaurant.com. The Biergarten is located directly behind the main building of the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant and parking is available nearby. The casual open-air atmosphere is designed to provide a family-friendly venue as well as a unique place for a night out in the summer.
Located at 1132 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant & Catering also offers lunch and dinner in the restaurant, catering facilities for groups of 10 to 700, off-site catering packages, a separate bar menu, special events, outdoor and indoor festivals and theme nights throughout the year.
